2. Tug of War

Tug of war traditionally known as “Tanab-kashi”, the game of great strength & control is widely played in the central highlands by middle aged men, who put the maximum of their efforts to pull the rope and make the opposing team contact the defeat line. This is being yet another important game of the annual Bamyan Silk Road and Nowroz Festivals entertaining the locals & Bamyan visitors.

Pull it hard men; don’t let go _ they scream!
Bamyan known as the most peaceful province with hospitable and friendly people witnessed great signs of peace. Bamyan is proud to have witnessed that the New Zealand Provincial Reconstruction Team laid their weapons down to combat against the muscles of Bamyan locals in the Tug of War in 2010 Nowroz & Silk Road Festivals proving that Bamyan portrays the true image of Afghanistan and the people of Bamyan commit themselves for a revolutionized Afghanistan, where peace, stability and love speak first.
