Bamyan with the aim to developing sustainable tourism industry through making it a four-season tourist destination int he region is already marking its journey very successfully towards it desired goal as the East Horizon Flight Service (http://flyeasthorizon.com/) has already launched its test flight to Bamyan which has the capacity of 30 – 35 passengers at a time and is being the first purely Afghan courier flight service transporting passengers to Bamyan, Kunduz, Ghor and Uruzgan from the Kabul International Airport of Afghanistan.

Bamyan with its cultural landscape, the 1500 years old Buddha Niches, the remnants of historical site including the Red City, the Screaming City, Forty Towers and hosting the first Afghan National Park, draws thousands of national & international tourists from all nook and corner who experience the diversity of culture, beauty and mystery altogether at very fair price. According to Bamyan Tourism Development Board report-April 2012, there were around 1098 international and 2046 tourists who visited the cultural and historical sites of Bamyan in 2011 by having paid formally for their visit; whereas, Band-e-Amir National Park hosted 54000 national & international visitors in 2011 who had to get ticket to have the experience of natural beauty of the park. Moreover, in the attempt of making Bamyan as four-season tourist destination Rah-e-Abrisham Tourist Agency has been organizing Winter Games & Ski programs so that tourists experience skiing, snow-boarding, sledging experiences on peaks reaching to almost 4000 m high and on un-skied glacial hills. Around 105 skiers have been able to make their skiing programs possible with no commercial flight service by reaching PACTEC & UNHAS via their contacts at INGO’s since these flight services provide flight for only NGO/INGO employees not to ordinary tourists/visitors. Both UNHAS, PACTEC & previously functioning US Embassy flight managed to have 1650 flights in 2011, according to Bamyan Airport management report.
