A Day in Melaka
Indulged with personal lives and careers – with pleasure or in compromising state – the three friends, once inseparable, decide for reunion more than a bachelor’s-party-type-excursion to Spain. The thrilling part is a condition each has to overcome as part of the plan. Arjun, the workaholic fears swimming/ snorkeling; Imran, the apparently happy-go-lucky with flirting gestures is scared to death of sky-diving.  And Kabir, the marriage prey, has to go for the Encierro (Running of the bulls); literally daring to face the reality _ to give up on Natasha (fiancée). Guess what? They did not make through their fears proudly but also embraced more joyous fate.

Zindegi Na Milige Dobara (ZNMD: You will not get another life) unlike conventional “MASALA” Bollywood movies, takes you to a journey of daring what you don’t, encountering fears and challenging comfort zones. Along the way, the characters leave us appreciating our fragile relationship and wondering about decisions we make (from minor to major). However, each sequence keeps us involved with movie theme, “you get life only once”.

You remain in bed faking exhaustion, embrace the nature smeared with “man-made” pollution to mutate genes into colossus version of you; enjoy family/ friends’ gathering (at times aggressive environment, but worth it) or entertain with reading/ meditation. I am attracted to the active ones though tempted to passive one provided the vitamin and protein substances are active in my veins. Lately, I found another condition, “priorities”. A bitter reality professionals and students studying abroad admit; joyfully?  ~ No way!

Living in Malaysia has ruined my routine, a gentle but sure confession. Jawad Jahid I used to be: strolling in oblivious gesture in the streets of Alamdar or Aliabad roads (Quetta), mountaineering or must-do-evening walks _ delightful with friends & spiritual lonesome_ in heaven on earth, Bamyan. On weekends family gathering was blessing in Quetta while outing in Bamyan, compelling. Luckily, I have always had a few friends, whose sense of adventurism doubled the joy of living at the edge.

I must have cleared the life-pattern differences, if not enough, take it this way. No matter what, I ain’t gonna be first version of characters in ZNMD and have limited choice to fancy Quetta or Bamyan narration until my MIB graduation (August 2016). But I got a choice to make the most of what is at our disposal at College to live the second and braver version of ZNMD characters _ salvation!
