Break Invincible Fences
Over the course of history, man is derived to theory of idealism in essence and practices, practically. However, there have been individuals whose motive drove them to go for the otherwise _ change the course of history. They knew the change had to come from within prior to imparting to the masses. From Socrates to modern philosophers or life coaches, “knowing oneself” has been the integral component to becoming learned and successful.

Stonemason-turned-philosopher rather and in reality, the father of philosophy, Socrates left a legacy behind, “Know Thyself”, which has given birth to hundreds of human geniuses. I say hundreds with the fact that people resist thoughts and life-mode of each genius for one good reason; they do not follow but mark a different pathway; therefore, we do not expect greater number of heroes. Socrates’ questioning the established doctrine, “might makes right” conferred death penalty on him. More than 2000 years have vanished in thick air Socrates’ unorthodox belief is proselytized by the geniuses of our generation who believe man can unveil secrets of universe; innovate socio-economic patterns and reform geo-politics
in the wake of self-awareness.

Self-awareness is implied by Islam and is defined in the Hadith of Prophet Mohammad (P.B.U.H.). He clearly says, “one who knows his SELF, knows his Creator”. Majority of people during His time and today idealize individuals but not their philosophy, therefore, we have greater followers than creators or individuals who turn their dreams (not personal but humane) into reality. Dr. Allama Mohammad Iqbal’s Asrar-e-Khudi, “The Secret of the Self” was misunderstood by many scholars of his time and even today his ideology is treated with doubts. For the worse, he was called, infidel (Kafir) by those religious and intellectual literates for his faith that one conquers his fate by conquering his SELF. Let’s not forget Iqbal fanaticized separate and free land for people of today’s Pakistan and India, which was eminent and aristocratic _ depends on one’s interpretation.

Now, you may wonder why in the world I chew over, “SELF”. Did I read any of Dale Carnegie’s self-help books? Did I venture like Santiago’s journey for treasures in Egypt? Have I rummaged through sleepless hours of night like Edison to try the 10,000th attempt of inventing electric light? Or did I lately get doses of motivation from James Brown’s speeches? Nah! Lately, I neither got a hold of motivational book/ speech nor tossed in bed late night. I am simply pretending not to be idealist of an individual but of philosophy. My neuron system was refreshed after some time.

Jake Abdullah, “Jakeman”, the CEO of Astro Radio, Malaysia came with fire spurring his life pattern, “breaking invincible fences” at the 31st INTI Leadership Series. Jakeman has transformed in spirit, practice and in faith of human strength. His talk was centered on breaking the fuss born within and forces pushing us back against our dreams.  He believes and practices that life starts by steering clear of “excuses”.  Life starts by being in authority of choices. Life starts by discovering how we will be remembered at our funeral. Life is great which is lived to the fullest with no energy left behind, no dreams turned down, no humane act was undone.

Talking about humane act, Jakeman believes, one can offer help when only being aware of self-strengths. I got single-chance to ask if he is satisfied with the legacy he will leave behind. Finally, clenching his vibes, but he waded through intelligently making us think again, “Are we breaking our invincible fences or building more?”
