Different But Same
We are different but same in many ways…

A generation ranked as the 6th in Asia and 20th in the world in terms of economic growth (6% per year) has borne rough journey. Sure, it has been rough and painstakingly long to attain this status.  How Malaysia has evolved this far is another story. I put this into different socio-economic reasons than political-religious sovereignty of Malaysia:

The multi-cultural dimension of Malaysia (50% Malay, 23% Chinese, 12% indigenous and 7% Indian) has laid foundation for strong economic competition. This opened gates for greater interests of giant corporations to launch business.

The ever-reforming education structure of Malaysia has created an environment of entrepreneurship, which is targeting global scenes in years to come. With the launch of Economic Transformation Program, Malaysia aims to rise per capita from 6,700 $ to 15,000$ by the year 2020 to become one of the high income economy in the world – That’s realistically possible!

The socio-cultural freedom of Malaysia has enabled both Malaysia men and women to contribute in branding Malaysia as emerging economic power. With 91% literacy rate of women 55% of women are in labor force. This makes the women labor force participation almost 48 percent, according to the World Bank Report 2011.

Being the Chief Event Coordinator of college Career Week, what appealed me was participation of women employer representing multi-national companies to small start-ups; Executives of million dollar businesses to charity organizations.
Remember, Malaysia is an Islamic State with 61% of population practicing Islam, Islam as state religion and with Muslim Prime Minister. Malaysia has many reasons to be a role model for other Islamic states like Afghanistan and Pakistan.
These are few of many role models of Malaysia’s true ambassadors I had an opportunity to meet professionally and formally:
