The sun, the
moon and other heavenly bodies make a noise as they whirl about, producing a
cosmic harmony, the “music of spheres.” Not only Pythagoras (570 BC) discovered
the “Pythagorean theorem” (that the squares of the hypotenuse of a triangle is
equal to the sum of the squares on the other two sides), so did his philosophy
portray harmony of nature, religion and wisdom.

Last quarter of 8th
grade, Pythagoras’ name and his theory would funnel through my eardrum stimulating
my drowsiness and my acrimonious gestures would end up; pulling my hair (though
gently), grinding my teeth and strangling in Math tests. Ironically, I always scored
competitive marks in Math throughout high school. Nonetheless, Pythagoras’
mystery never unlocked due to later life extractions and distractions. I now
envy childhood’s accentuate ignorance free of glamour and abysmal competition. But then, all my imaginations excited when I visited this valley not for once but at each visit – The Foladi Valley!

The sheer
sobriety harmonized with descending clouds thatching partly snow-covered mountain
tops, stark yellowish-brown tree leaves, the breathtaking fragrance of weeds
and the multi-form and color pebbles portray exhibitionism of Qazaan and Ali
Baig of Foladi Valley at this part of the year. The eyes stun, the heart-beat chirps,
the body enthralls and the soul cheers at the picturesque view of the valley and
I’d truly experience the same version of harmony carved by Pythagoras. Not once,
but once every season place on my must-visit-valleys of Bamyan and I surely and
utterly miss the very same view and experience …

Thanks to the Japanese Government for constructing 12.3 km asphalt road making the travel more convenient for hikers/ adventurists and the markets more accessible for local communities. En route, one can embrace some blessing from Khawja Sabzpush Shrine restored by UNESCO in 2012. The shrine looks in perfect shape adding to the heritage value of Bamyan. The entire tour experience is worth it…
Don’t you amaze at the awe-inspiring beauty of these worth-your-time valleys in Bamyan?
